Senior Accountant – Financial Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a high‑performing finance team within a long‑established Irish organisation. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own key financial processes and support strategic finance initiatives across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and own monthly management accounts and regional/divisional P&L reports.
• Conduct budget and prior‑year variance analysis with clear commentary.
• Manage balance‑sheet reconciliations, general ledger control, accruals, pre‑payments and month‑end close.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee cash‑flow forecasting, funds management and FX approvals.
• Prepare and submit VAT, Intrastat and VIES returns for ROI and the UK.
• Support payroll‑related tax compliance (BIK, P11Ds, etc.) and act as main contact for external auditors.
• Oversee AP/AR functions, expense reporting, stock provisioning and operational reporting.
• Coordinate insurance policies and fleet/lease management.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of financial accounting experience in the Irish market.
• Strong analytical and commercial mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Relevant accounting qualification (ACCA or similar) or extensive industry experience.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as Intact IQ or SAP.
