About the role

We are partnering with a Top‑10 professional services firm in Dublin to recruit a motivated and technically strong Senior Audit Manager/Director. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality audits for small‑medium enterprises and owner‑managed businesses, offering a unique chance to step up from a boutique practice into a leading, high‑growth environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME and owner‑managed business audits from planning through completion, tailoring the audit approach to private, entrepreneurial companies.
• Provide direct advisory support to business owners and directors, resolving accounting issues with clear, practical guidance.
• Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships with founders, management teams, and external stakeholders such as banks.
• Collaborate across specialist teams to identify broader business needs, introducing tax, corporate finance, or succession planning services when appropriate.
• Own engagement economics, including budgeting, staffing, and timeline tracking to ensure profitable delivery.
• Mentor and coach managers and senior audit staff, fostering technical growth and confidence in client interactions.
• Promote cloud accounting tools and modern workflows to streamline audit processes and minimise disruption for client finance teams.

Required profile

• Audit experience gained in a small‑medium sized practice environment.
• Passion for delivering an excellent client experience.
• Strong technical audit skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Clear and confident verbal and written communication abilities.
• Motivated, proactive team player.
• Typically 5+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
