Senior Backend Engineer – Java & Spring Boot

About the role

We are partnering with a leading global financial services organisation to expand their Dublin engineering team. The role focuses on building and enhancing core, high‑volume transaction platforms using Java and Spring Boot within a micro‑services architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services in Java/Spring Boot.
• Work within a distributed micro‑services environment supporting large‑scale financial transactions.
• Integrate and optimise services that interact with Oracle or similar relational databases.
• Improve performance of database‑driven workflows and ensure data accuracy.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams across multiple regions on production‑scale systems.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven track record in micro‑services based systems.
• Solid experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle.
• Ability to work on production systems where reliability and performance are critical.
• Experience in financial, payments or transaction‑processing platforms is highly advantageous.
