Senior Calypso Developer – Capital Markets

About the role

First Derivative is expanding its Calypso practice and seeks a Senior Calypso Developer to join high‑profile transformation and implementation programmes in global capital markets. You will work on greenfield implementations, upgrades and complex transformation initiatives across EMEA, North America and APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver Calypso solutions across the full trade lifecycle in large‑scale programmes.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Operations and Technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Support greenfield implementations, version upgrades and transformation initiatives worldwide.
• Integrate Calypso with external systems using APIs, messaging and batch processing.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from analysis and design to deployment and post‑go‑live support.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Provide technical expertise on the Calypso object model and architecture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across trading, risk and post‑trade processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Calypso Developer on implementation, upgrade or transformation programmes.
• Strong Java development skills, including experience with Spring and Hibernate.
• Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle and object‑oriented design.

• Calypso platform (v16+ preferred) and its object model.
