Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist – Epilepsy & Learning Disabilities

About the role

The Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist will lead clinical practice and service development for the Epilepsy and Learning Disabilities service within NHS Fife. This permanent, full‑time position works across multiple sites and supports adults with complex learning disabilities and epilepsy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the epilepsy nursing caseload and supervise the workload of the multidisciplinary team.
• Conduct assessments, request and coordinate investigations, and develop treatment plans and care pathways.
• Lead service development, partnership working and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Provide clinical supervision, peer review and support the professional development of staff.
• Ensure compliance with NHS policies, including PVG registration and right‑to‑work checks.

Required profile

• Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Post‑graduate qualification in epilepsy care (certificate or diploma) and evidence of Masters‑level study.
• Extensive experience in learning disabilities and epilepsy practice, including non‑medical prescribing.
• Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills with a commitment to continuous professional development.
