Senior Construction Planner (Cork)

About the role

The client is a leading Tier 1 construction contractor operating across Ireland and internationally. They are seeking a Senior Construction Planner to join their Cork team, driving planning and project controls for both pre‑construction and live project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain baseline and target programmes for all project stages.
• Create tender and procurement schedules aligned with design and construction deliverables.
• Monitor progress, maintain as‑built programmes and analyse variances.
• Identify programme risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Produce 4D/2D visual planning outputs to support delivery.
• Support change‑management through impact analysis on the programme.
• Lead programme reporting for internal and client‑facing stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior planners, contributing to continuous improvement of planning standards.

Required profile

• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in a senior planner role on construction or major projects.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies and programme logic.
• Experience with progress tracking, reporting and programme risk management.
• Knowledge of NEC or JCT contract conditions is desirable.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
