Senior Developer – Backend Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Developer to design and scale backend services that power next‑generation security solutions. Based in Ireland, you will work in a fast‑moving, collaborative environment, influencing architecture and engineering standards while leveraging AI‑powered tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable backend services supporting critical platform functionality.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, improving system scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product owners and technical teams to translate complex requirements into robust solutions.
• Build and optimise data‑processing workflows for high availability and speed.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and monitoring.
• Promote best practices through automation, testing, and code‑quality initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional backend engineering experience in a product‑focused environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within a distributed international team.
• Experience with cybersecurity, SaaS, or cloud‑security contexts is a plus.

Required skills

• Python (including async programming and related frameworks).
• Proficiency in at least one additional programming language used in production.
• AI‑powered development tools for productivity enhancement.
• Software architecture, design patterns, data structures, distributed systems, and microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
• Containerisation and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
