Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading European engineering contractor in Dublin. Reporting to the Electrical Design Manager, you will lead design packages from review through estimation, procurement, planning and hand‑over for site execution.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, construction managers and consultants to develop comprehensive project plans and ensure on‑schedule delivery.
• Develop scope‑of‑works, task information deliverables lists and responsibility matrices for electrical disciplines.
• Raise and mitigate design‑related risks, maintaining accurate records of changes and issues.
• Assist central engineering and site teams with proactive contributions to construction matters.
• Attend design meetings, provide optimisation input and support new tenders and pre‑construction service agreements.
• Oversee construction to ensure adherence to design specifications, schedules and technical compliance.
• Manage deliverables and approval processes for design packages, ensuring full procurement approval.
• Conduct site visits, report progress and quality, and prepare comprehensive hand‑over packs for the site team.
• Coordinate electrical disciplines and interfaces with civil, structural and mechanical teams, following information control standards such as BIM360.

Required profile

• Proven cross‑discipline electrical design experience in a construction environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience managing design packages from concept to hand‑over.
• Ability to identify, raise and mitigate design risks.
• Familiarity with construction planning, estimation and procurement processes.
• Willingness to conduct site visits and support on‑site teams.
