Senior Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team within a medical device manufacturing plant in Cork. The role is fully onsite and focuses on building technical capability, delivering on customer demand, and driving continuous improvement across quality, delivery and cost.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians across manufacturing, test, automation and preventative maintenance.
• Define direction, goals and performance metrics for the department, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
• Drive cross‑functional programs that improve machine uptime, process yield and overall throughput.
• Oversee new product projects, installations and plant‑wide initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards and health & safety regulations.
• Develop succession plans, training programmes and yearly objectives for direct reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (Level 8) or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of management experience in a medium/high‑volume multinational manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Experience in the medical‑device sector is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation and preventative maintenance.
• Ability to design and implement procedures that meet regulatory and health‑and‑safety standards.
