Senior Financial Accountant – PE‑Backed Start‑Up (€75k + benefits)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to own the month‑end close and statutory reporting for one of our largest business units within a fast‑growing PE‑backed Irish start‑up. You will work closely with the Group Finance Manager and Group Director of Finance, contributing to finance transformation projects and modern finance system implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the month‑end close process, preparing management accounts, journals, reconciliations, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Lead the annual audit, prepare statutory financial statements and manage external audit requirements.
• Partner with business leaders to produce budgets, forecasts and financial analysis for commercial decisions.
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax compliance.
• Provide timely financial data for group consolidations, KPI reporting and board reporting.
• Establish and maintain robust financial controls, accounting policies and governance procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, reporting and systems.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CPA with 2–5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong technical accounting background covering month‑end reporting, statutory accounts and audit preparation.
• Experience with Xero or a similar cloud accounting platform and advanced Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of Irish payroll, VAT and corporate tax compliance.
• Organised, commercially minded and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
