Senior Financial Accounts Manager – Retail Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accounts Manager to join a leading retail accountancy and consulting firm in Cork. The role involves preparing and reviewing management accounts, analysing gross margin variances, and leading a team of accountants and trainees.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review management accounts, investigate gross margin variances and develop action plans to improve margins and reduce costs.
• Evaluate and implement effective internal controls.
• Manage working capital for client accounts.
• Provide full financial control services to clients.
• Lead, train and supervise a team of accountants and trainee accountants.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CPA) with at least 3 years’ experience in a practice environment.
• Proficient in all aspects of accounts preparation.
• Comfortable dealing with clients, presenting financial analysis and recommending operational and financial improvements.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Competent IT skills and ability to work independently to tight deadlines.
• Experience in training and supervising staff.
• Understanding of the retail sector is advantageous.
