Senior Full Stack Developer (Vue & Node.js) – Remote

About the role

Equate Media is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to enhance a real‑time communications platform that handles thousands of calls each day. This 100% remote independent‑contractor position offers the chance to work across multiple services, debug production issues end‑to‑end, and shape AI‑augmented operational features.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard quickly to a multi‑service platform built with Node.js, Python, PHP and modern front‑ends.
• Investigate and resolve issues across frontend, backend, telephony, and data pipelines.
• Improve systems for real‑time call flows, lead routing, buyer‑matching and dispatch.
• Develop and refine internal interfaces used by live operations and agents.
• Build backend services and APIs that directly impact business performance.
• Integrate AI capabilities such as transcription, summarisation, dispositioning and automated dialing decisions.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and raise execution standards across the team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production experience as a full‑stack software engineer.
• Strong expertise in Node.js and ability to read/write Python or PHP when needed.
• Proven ability to dive into complex, existing codebases rather than only greenfield projects.
• Comfortable debugging across the full stack – frontend, backend, telephony, databases and infrastructure.
• Strong instincts for performance, reliability, observability and maintainability.
• Willingness to take ownership and work autonomously in a fast‑moving environment.
