Senior Insurance Accountant – Finance Team (Dublin)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Senior Insurance Accountant to join our Dublin finance team. Reporting to the Dublin Finance Manager and working closely with the UK Finance Manager, you will play a central part in month‑end and year‑end close, statutory reporting and financial planning for our Irish and UK entities.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver key elements of the monthly and annual close, including journal entry preparation and review under IFRS (including IFRS 17).
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet, inter‑company and bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to provide insight for commercial decisions.
• Produce monthly management reporting packs and continuously improve reporting material.
• Support finance teams in responding to queries from external audit, internal audit, tax authorities and the Central Bank of Ireland.
• Collaborate with a geographically dispersed finance team, mentor junior colleagues and champion process improvements.
• Deliver ad‑hoc projects and tasks as requested by the Irish and UK Finance Managers.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified accountant with experience in insurance or broader financial services.
• Strong technical grounding in accounting principles and financial reporting standards within a multinational environment.
• Excellent analytical mindset and solutions‑focused approach.
• Proven ability to plan, prioritize and meet tight month‑end and reporting deadlines.
• Confident verbal and written communicator able to engage stakeholders across locations.

Required skills

• IFRS (including IFRS 17) knowledge.
• Advanced MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Oracle General Ledger.
• Familiarity with SmartView.
