Senior IT Systems Engineer (Remote, Ireland)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join a remote‑first technology organization based in Ireland. You will play a key role in building, scaling and optimizing IT systems that support a globally distributed workforce, with a strong focus on automation, identity management and macOS endpoint experience.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimise identity and access management (IAM) systems, including SSO implementation and automated onboarding/offboarding.
• Design, build and maintain automation workflows to streamline IT operations and eliminate repetitive tasks.
• Monitor SaaS usage, identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve license utilisation.
• Develop reporting and analytics on software spend, renewal risks and optimisation opportunities.
• Manage user provisioning/de‑provisioning while ensuring secure access.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues, implementing long‑term preventative solutions.
• Support and enhance endpoint management, delivering a high‑quality macOS user experience.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, finance and operations teams to improve infrastructure and service delivery.
• Evaluate, implement and maintain a wide range of SaaS platforms and productivity tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience managing and supporting IT infrastructure in a growing organisation.
• Strong experience with IAM platforms, especially SSO and user lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to build automation workflows and integrations using APIs and modern automation tools.
• Experience managing SaaS ecosystems and supporting collaboration, productivity, communication and security tools.
• Solid understanding of macOS environments and endpoint‑management best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
