Senior Manager – Inventory Control

About the role

AbbVie Ireland is looking for a Senior Manager, Inventory Control to lead inventory management for both pharmaceutical and biologics manufacturing at the Westport site. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, you will supervise a team of three and ensure compliance with cGMP, regulatory, and financial standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, motivate and develop the Inventory Control team through performance reviews, coaching and Individual Development Plans.
• Oversee all site inventory processes, including consignment stock, Material Review Board, and alignment with site metrics.
• Define and enforce inventory policies to meet cGMP, Quality, EHS, FDA, HPRA and SOX requirements.
• Maintain SAP and S4 system integrity, driving improvements and alignment with AbbVie standards.
• Lead strategic inventory optimisation projects such as off‑site storage and global serialization support.
• Act as site lead for audits, cycle counts, financial controls and inventory documentation.
• Collaborate with third‑party labs, engineering stores, warehouse, finance and quality teams.
• Conduct Gemba walks, 6S activities and regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in inventory control or related supply‑chain functions.
• Formal qualification in Supply Chain, Materials Management or an equivalent discipline.
• Strong analytical, organisational and decision‑making abilities.
• Proven leadership, communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to adapt to change and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
