Senior Ocean Export Agent

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Ocean Export Agent to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance and delivery of freight while delivering exceptional customer service. The role is part of Expeditors’ global logistics network and works closely with customers, carriers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and maintain accurate data in the operational system for all ocean export shipments.
• Track and trace ocean export files, generate reports and monitor workflow daily.
• Prepare and send shipping notices and required documents to overseas partners and customers.
• Coordinate billing for clients and vendors and ensure timely invoicing.
• Interact with customers to arrange international shipments and meet service standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with ocean carriers, trucking companies and other suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external government regulations at all times.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Escalate issues to management when necessary and provide timely responses to internal and external communications.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in ocean export logistics or freight forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures and international shipping regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with customers and carriers.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and meeting KPI targets.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data entry and use of logistics operational systems.
• Experience with tracking, tracing and workflow tools for ocean shipments.
• Understanding of billing processes and customs documentation.
