Senior Pharmacist – 12‑month temporary role

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Senior Pharmacist to join the Galway Clinic pharmacy team on a 12‑month contract. The role involves clinical review of medication orders, dispensing to in‑patients and out‑patients, and providing medication advice.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical reviews of hospital medication orders and dispense medicines in line with clinic policies.
• Provide medication counselling to patients and advice to healthcare professionals.
• Teach and train pharmacy students and staff, including in‑service sessions.
• Participate in relevant committees and support the chemotherapy service, including compounding, clinical checking, dispensing, stock counting and billing.
• Maintain high standards of confidentiality, attendance and professional appearance.
• Cover weekend rota as required.

Required profile

• BSc (Pharm) or MPharm with registration on the PSI register.
• Minimum three years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
• Proven clinical, leadership and managerial abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
