Senior Project Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading building main contractor operating across Ireland and the UK, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead school and residential projects from inception to handover in Cork. This role offers the chance to work with a reputable firm and develop a career in a dynamic construction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the project team, driving high performance throughout all project phases.
• Ensure compliance with PSCS requirements and maintain the highest health and safety standards on site.
• Interpret and manage contract documents, including drawings, specifications and BOQ.
• Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• Track progress, manage schedules and ensure timely completion of contracts.
• Monitor subcontractor performance in health & safety, quality, cost and programme.
• Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor and Commercial team to control project costs and achieve financial targets.
• Lead the design team, challenge designs and ensure procurement information is available.
• Organise site teams, communicate clear programme and quality targets, and deliver value for the client.
• Prepare accurate reports for the Construction Director and identify process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in construction project management or contracts management.
• Proven ability to manage complex school or residential projects.
• Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and PSCS standards.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work proactively with commercial and design teams.
