SEO Lead

About the role

Legacy is looking for an experienced SEO Lead to own and drive the SEO function across all client accounts. This senior, hands‑on position combines strategic leadership with direct contribution to client delivery, operating with a high degree of independence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute SEO strategies for each client, from onboarding through 3‑6 month road‑maps and ongoing optimisation.
• Manage sprint‑based delivery, ensuring weekly priorities align with strategic goals and monitoring performance, AI visibility and competitor activity.
• Lead the agency’s AI search approach, shaping visibility on platforms such as Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude, and integrating AI tools into client strategies.
• Oversee the four‑phase SEO delivery model (Plan, Create, Promote, Learn) and decide timing for Digital PR link acquisition.
• Foster innovation by testing new SEO tactics, documenting results and sharing insights across the team.
• Manage, mentor and develop the SEO team through regular 1:1s, goal‑setting and performance feedback.

Required profile

• 5+ years of proven SEO experience, preferably in an agency setting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to make strategic decisions independently.
• Excellent analytical mindset and a passion for staying ahead of SEO and AI trends.
• Hands‑on attitude, ready to contribute directly to client projects while guiding the team.
