Site Engineer – Education Project (Galway)

About the role

Our client, a leading construction contractor, is seeking a Site Engineer to join the Galway team on an education‑sector project. The role supports the Project Manager in delivering the construction works safely, on time and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out setting‑out and site surveys using Total Station and GPS equipment.
• Ensure all works comply with drawings, specifications and Irish Building Regulations.
• Monitor daily site progress, produce reports and track programme performance.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs and quality inspections.
• Identify and resolve technical issues in collaboration with the design team.
• Promote and enforce health and safety procedures on site.
• Assist with quality control, inspections and project handover.
• Support planning, scheduling and resource management activities.

Required profile

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Knowledge of construction methods and Irish Building Regulations.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
• Full clean driving licence.
