BIM / CAD Design Engineer – Water & Wastewater Projects

About the role

Coffey is seeking Revit / AutoCAD / BIM Engineers to join the design team working on major water and wastewater treatment design‑build projects. The role involves close collaboration with mechanical, electrical, process and civil engineers and the preparation of 2D and 3D designs using Autodesk software. The position is based in Athenry, Galway or Maynooth with occasional site visits across Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Support the BIM team and develop expertise in BIM/CAD tools.
• Plan, coordinate and execute BIM and CAD input from concept to completion.
• Produce data‑rich 3D Revit models and 2D drawings for mechanical, electrical and civil packages, including general arrangement drawings and P&IDs.
• Apply QA/QC procedures to ensure deliverables meet internal, client and industry standards.
• Conduct BIM coordination activities, model integration, quality assurance and clash detection using Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff.
• Maintain project documentation in line with ISO‑accredited procedures and BIM protocols.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, EICA, civil and structural designers.
• Perform site surveys, laser scanning and update models using point‑cloud data.
• Create and maintain Revit families.

Required profile

• Third‑level qualification in BIM, engineering or construction.
• Minimum two years post‑graduate industry experience.
• Full clean Irish/EU/UK driver’s licence.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
