Software Engineer – Data Engineering & DevSecOps (Ireland)

About the role

This position is for a Software Engineer with strong data‑engineering and DevSecOps expertise, based in Ireland. You will work in a fast‑paced, cloud‑native environment building and optimizing scalable data platforms and distributed query systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain secure data‑engineering and DevSecOps solutions.
• Support and optimise distributed query engines such as Starburst Enterprise, Trino or Presto.
• Develop infrastructure‑as‑code automation and deployment workflows.
• Manage Kubernetes‑based containerised environments and cloud‑native systems on AWS or Azure.
• Write advanced Linux scripts and perform system‑administration tasks on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Implement data‑governance, access controls and security best practices at scale.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability and performance.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, DevSecOps or related cloud‑engineering roles.
• Hands‑on experience with Starburst Enterprise, Trino or Presto.
• Strong Linux scripting and system‑administration background.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and automation tools such as Ansible.
• Familiarity with data table formats like Iceberg or Hive.
