Software Engineer III, Global Network Technology

About the role

Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to develop and operate the core software that powers its Wide Area Network (WAN). The role involves designing, building, and deploying large‑scale network solutions that enable Google’s global infrastructure to run efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Write production‑grade code for product or system development.
• Participate in and lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders.
• Review and provide feedback on code to ensure best practices, testability and performance.
• Maintain and improve documentation and educational content.
• Triage, debug, and resolve product or system issues affecting hardware, network, or service operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience, including full‑stack development.
• Experience with back‑end languages such as C++, Python, Go or Kotlin.
• Experience with front‑end technologies such as Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, and experience building accessible technologies.
