Software Engineer – Java, Spring Boot, Remote (Ireland)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join a tech‑focused organisation in Ireland. The role is fully remote and involves building reliable, scalable systems and supporting high‑traffic applications throughout the full development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end features using Java, Spring Boot and microservices patterns.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, performance and efficiency.
• Monitor production systems, resolve incidents and help prevent recurrence.
• Contribute to architectural discussions for distributed, highly available services.
• Support performance optimisation and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with other engineers to deliver high‑quality solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5+ years of software development experience with strong Java expertise.
• Solid understanding of microservices, data structures and concurrency programming.
• Experience with distributed messaging, RPC frameworks and containerised environments.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
