Software Engineer - Traffic team

About the role
Snowflake is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Traffic & Networking team in Dublin. The team builds and operates the global edge infrastructure that handles DNS, TLS termination, load balancing, CDNs, and traffic routing for every Snowflake request. You will work on highly reliable, secure, and scalable services that power billions of daily queries.
Key responsibilities
- Design, lead, or own significant projects that impact Snowflake’s edge infrastructure.
- Contribute to the design and operation of reliable, secure, and performant services.
- Develop software to expand the fleet of traffic and edge services.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and ensure high uptime.
- Investigate production issues, conduct blameless post‑mortems, and drive improvements.
Required profile
- Low‑ego, experimental mindset and curiosity about AI as a collaborator.
- Thrives in fast‑moving, dynamic environments.
- Passionate about building reliable, high‑throughput systems.
Required skills
- Experience with DNS management.
- Knowledge of TLS termination and load balancing.
- Familiarity with CDNs and L4/L7 networking.
- Understanding of traffic routing and multi‑cloud infrastructure.
- Automation of deployment pipelines.
