Sr. Android Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to lead the creation of large‑scale Android launcher experiences used by tens of millions worldwide. Based in Ireland, you will shape home‑screen environments that blend native Android with embedded Unity gaming and advanced monetisation features.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver end‑to‑end native Android launcher components such as home screen, app grid, drawer, folders, widgets, wallpapers and themes.
• Architect a modular launcher platform that supports multiple product variants while maintaining performance, stability and code reusability.
• Integrate Unity‑as‑a‑Library game experiences, ensuring isolation, smooth embedding and optimal performance.
• Optimise system‑level metrics including startup speed, memory usage and responsiveness, complying with Google Play policies.
• Implement monetisation systems (ads, search, in‑game placements) using AdMob, Unity Ads and similar platforms.
• Collaborate with product, design and game teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and promote best engineering practices.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional Android development experience on large‑scale, production‑grade apps.
• Proven track record building custom Android launchers or home‑screen replacements.
• Hands‑on experience integrating Unity or similar game engines into Android apps.
• Strong understanding of mobile monetisation ecosystems.
