Staff Nurse – Children’s (SNCHILD26)

About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting qualified Staff Nurses to join the Children’s services at Portiuncula University Hospital in Galway. This permanent position offers both part‑time and whole‑time options and is open to HSE and non‑HSE applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care to paediatric patients across all clinical areas.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Administer medications, perform IV therapy and support emergency procedures as required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HSE policies and clinical guidelines.
• Promote a safe, child‑friendly environment and support families throughout the care journey.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMBI registration.
• Qualified or experienced in paediatric nursing.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work shift patterns.
