Staff Nurse / Enhanced Nurse (Day/Nights)

About the role

The Staff Nurse / Enhanced Nurse will provide high‑quality care to adults with intellectual disability, autism and complex needs in residential and day‑service settings across Cork City and the St Patrick’s Upton (Innishannon) area. The role requires a flexible, person‑centred approach, working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care and support to residents in line with person‑centred practice and human‑rights principles.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and update health records according to organisational protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individual care plans.
• Ensure compliance with written guidelines, health and safety standards, and the ethos of the Corlann Service.
• Provide clinical support for medication administration, wound care, and other health interventions.

Required profile

• Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (RNID, RGN or RPN) and able to maintain active registration.
• Full clean manual driving licence for driving a manual vehicle on Irish roads.
• One year or more experience working with adults with intellectual disability or autism in a high‑support residential setting (desirable).
• Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) and ability to work autonomously.

Required skills

• Manual driving licence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Competence using information systems for health documentation.
