Staff Nurse – Intensive Care Unit

About the role

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to provide high‑quality care to surgical and medical patients, including postoperative, cardiac, neurology, dialysis, obstetric emergencies, and paediatric cases. The role operates within a 5‑bed unit with isolated negative‑pressure rooms and will support the planned expansion of additional high‑dependency beds.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Monitor and manage patients requiring continuous dialysis therapy.
• Coordinate safe transfers of critical patients to specialised hospitals when needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, reporting to the shift leader and the Director of Nursing.
• Participate in education and continuous learning initiatives within the unit.

Required profile

• Valid working permit or visa for employment in Ireland.
• Qualified nursing professional able to work in an intensive care environment.
• Commitment to teamwork and ongoing professional development.
