Staff Nurse – Part‑time, Gerontological Care

About the role

Windmill Healthcare is seeking a part‑time Staff Nurse to join the Care Team at Abbot Close Care Centre in Askeaton, Co. Limerick. You will deliver person‑centred nursing care to elderly residents, supporting their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide efficient, effective nursing care on a person‑centred basis.
• Promote a caring environment that meets residents’ holistic needs.
• Build supportive relationships with residents, families and visitors.
• Follow all Windmill Healthcare policies, including medication control and custody.
• Maintain compliance with HIQA standards and assist with inspection processes.
• Complete accurate admission documentation and coordinate resident discharge with external health professionals.
• Collaborate with the CNM/DON for daily management support.

Required profile

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and hold an active PIN.
• Eligible to work in Ireland and fluent in written and spoken English.
• Clinical experience in gerontological or residential nursing care.
• Knowledge of HIQA standards and the Health Act Regulations 2013.
• Strong communication and listening abilities.
