Staff Nurse – Registered General Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered General Nurse to join St.Peters Nursing Home in County Louth. You will provide high‑quality care to our elderly residents, ensuring their health, safety, and wellbeing in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update individualised Care Plans in line with An Bord Altranais guidelines.
• Assess and address the health and social care needs of new and existing residents.
• Administer prescribed medication and document all treatments accurately.
• Report any illness or incidents promptly and coordinate professional visits as required.
• Provide clear handovers at the end of each shift and support multidisciplinary communication.
• Uphold health and safety standards, reporting hazards and ensuring a safe environment.

Required profile

• Effective communication skills at all levels.
• Genuine interest in caring for elderly residents.
• Current registration with An Bord Altranais.
• Team‑player attitude and ability to work as a 1st‑level nurse.
• Desirable: experience in elderly care, knowledge of HIQA standards, previous supervisory experience.
