Staff Nurse – Residential Services for Older Persons

About the role

The Staff Nurse will join HSE South West’s Residential Services for Older Persons in Cork, working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care for adults and older adults across a range of settings, including continuing, convalescent, transitional, respite and palliative care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
• Provide holistic, person‑centred care that promotes independence and enhances quality of life.
• Collaborate with managers, nursing directors, clinical nurse managers, health‑care assistants and support staff to ensure coordinated service delivery.
• Document care activities accurately and maintain up‑to‑date patient records.
• Participate in team meetings, case reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse qualified to practice in Ireland.
• Experience working with adult or older adult populations in residential or community settings.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, ethical care within a multidisciplinary environment.
