Supervising Pharmacist – Mitchelstown

About the role

The busy community pharmacy in Mitchelstown, County Cork is looking for a Superintendent Supervising Pharmacist to work Monday‑Thursday. You will be responsible for ensuring all prescription dispensing complies with Irish legislation and for the day‑to‑day administration of the pharmacy.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Supervising Pharmacist and maintain all required paperwork and records.
• Dispense prescription medicines and perform clinical, pharmaceutical and order‑entry quality reviews.
• Conduct accuracy checks on all prescriptions before dispensing.
• Liaise with prescribers to resolve clinical or regulatory queries.
• Provide patient counselling and support for all medication recipients.
• Manage locum cover for holidays and absences.
• Lead continuous professional development and uphold professional standards.
• Drive a culture of continuous quality improvement and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental health and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial pharmacy role.
• Strong knowledge of Irish pharmacy legislation and guidelines.
• Ability to lead a team of technicians and sales assistants.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with customers and healthcare professionals.
