Supervisor, Engineering Services

About the role

The Supervisor, Engineering Services leads a multi‑disciplinary engineering team at Newmont’s Lihir gold operation, delivering safe, practical and cost‑effective engineering solutions to support site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, designers and graduates, planning and prioritising workloads to deliver high‑quality designs and projects.
• Oversee mechanical, electrical and civil design projects from concept to implementation, ensuring compliance with PNG regulations and Australian standards.
• Manage OPEX projects, delivering fit‑for‑purpose solutions on schedule and within budget, and support CAPEX projects with engineering expertise.
• Drive continuous improvement, document control and Management of Change processes to enhance asset integrity and reduce lifecycle costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Significant experience in mining or heavy industry, with proven leadership of design management and major project delivery.
• Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills, able to work autonomously while fostering a collaborative team culture.

Required skills

• Experience with engineering design systems and software.
• Knowledge of PNG regulatory requirements and Australian engineering standards.
• Document control, engineering governance and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
