Supply Chain Planner (Pharma)

About the role

The Supply Chain Planner will support the Strategic Procurement Manager in executing procurement and inventory planning for a pharmaceutical business. Working 37.5 hours per week, the role ensures product availability, manages vendor performance, and contributes to data‑driven supply chain decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and place purchase orders in line with procurement strategies, lead times and inventory policies.
• Maintain open purchase orders, follow up with vendors and monitor stock movements, including excess, slow‑moving, lapsed and expired inventory.
• Validate weekly demand forecasts with vendors, incorporating sales trends and business insights.
• Develop strong supplier relationships, monitor service‑level KPIs and support risk mitigation for product shortages.
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing Specialists, Warehouse and Wholesale teams to ensure seamless goods receipt and integration with the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Respond to internal sourcing queries, resolve supply chain issues and escalate risks when necessary.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects and identify opportunities for new sourcing strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of supply chain experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
• Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management and demand planning processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
