Supply Chain Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to support an established e‑commerce and distribution business in County Mayo. The role will manage supplier relationships, purchasing, inventory planning and inbound logistics to ensure product availability throughout the year.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, lead times and delivery performance.
• Build and maintain purchasing and inventory plans using sales history, seasonality and channel inputs.
• Set and monitor safety stock levels, reorder points and weekly stock risks.
• Produce reporting on stock status, forward cover, inbound ETAs and supply risks.
• Own end‑to‑end inbound logistics, including freight booking, forwarder coordination, import documentation and customs compliance.
• Optimise freight costs, carrier selection and final‑mile delivery KPIs.
• Establish B2C packaging standards and manage purchasing from approved providers.
• Flag delays early, communicate impact assessments and propose mitigation options.
• Improve inventory accuracy through realistic stock‑count planning and execution.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in purchasing and inventory planning/stock control.
• Proven ability to build forecasts and replenishment plans from historical sales and seasonality.
• Strong supplier management experience with international suppliers, MOQs and delivery performance.
• Hands‑on experience using an ERP or inventory management system.
• Desirable experience in apparel or seasonal products, wholesale‑led businesses, and multi‑warehouse inventory management.
