System Administrator (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join a global technology leader on a contract basis. The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while ensuring the reliability and performance of critical cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer cloud‑based servers, networks, and storage across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively reduce downtime.
• Implement security best practices, including access controls, vulnerability assessments, firewalls and encryption.
• Automate routine operations using Bash, Python or PowerShell scripts and configuration‑management tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deploy updates and resolve technical challenges.

Required profile

• Proven experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong background in Linux/Unix system administration and command‑line operations.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is preferred.
• Experience with monitoring solutions like Nagios, Zabbix or Prometheus is a plus.
