Systems Engineer – European Sovereign Cloud

About the role

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to lead the operation and growth of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC). You will work closely with global teams, influence AWS service evolution, and ensure a high‑availability experience for EU customers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations and expansion of the ESC.
• Collaborate with technology leaders to improve availability, reliability, latency, performance and efficiency.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to resolve incidents quickly.
• Deliver scalable services and maintain high‑availability standards for European users.
• Work with global teams and contribute to AWS service roadmap.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Linux operating systems and network troubleshooting or networking administration.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
• EU citizenship and residence within the European Union.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Ability to read and understand scripted code with comments.
• Knowledge or hands‑on experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
