Tax Manager / Assistant Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Assistant Manager to join a growing taxation team in Cork. The role combines compliance and advisory work across a diverse portfolio of corporate and personal clients, offering meaningful client interaction and exposure to complex tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a mixed portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, covering compliance and advisory work.
• Provide bespoke tax planning advice, including succession and estate planning.
• Support clients on tax consultancy, restructuring, and investment-related matters.
• Assist with international tax assignments and overseas transactions.
• Deliver VAT and general tax advisory support as required.
• Participate in Revenue audits and tax appeals, representing clients where necessary.
• Respond to ad‑hoc technical queries and conduct tax legislation research.
• Review and prepare tax returns.
• Supervise and mentor trainees and junior team members.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified.
• 1–3 years post‑qualification experience in tax.
• Background in a mid‑tier or Big 4 accountancy practice.
• Comfortable managing client relationships and providing direct tax advice.
• Interest in a collaborative environment with clear progression opportunities.
• Strong technical foundation combined with a practical, commercial approach.
