Tax Manager – SME Portfolio & Advisory

About the role

This permanent position reports directly to the Tax Partner of a well‑established accounting and tax advisory firm. The Tax Manager will lead a small team, delivering both advisory and compliance services to a diverse portfolio of SME clients across all tax heads.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, handling compliance and consultancy projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while expanding an external network.
• Assist in the management of the tax department, including work‑in‑progress monitoring, billing and fee collection.
• Collaborate with Partners, Directors and Managers on tax consultancy engagements.
• Liaise with other departments to identify and implement tax planning opportunities for clients.

Required profile

• Qualified Tax Professional and/or qualified accountant.
• Good working knowledge of all tax heads.
• Prior managerial experience at assistant manager or manager level.
• Proven ability to manage and develop junior staff.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
