Tax Risk & Controversy Manager / Senior Manager

About the role

PwC is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager to join its Tax Risk & Controversy team in Dublin. You will work with experienced professionals to help clients navigate Revenue interventions and manage overall tax risk in a fast‑growing, dynamic area of tax consulting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Revenue intervention process, maintaining regular liaison with Revenue authorities.
• Conduct pre‑audit testing and reviews across multiple tax heads to identify disclosure opportunities.
• Prepare qualifying disclosures and negotiate tax settlements, including interest and penalties.
• Advise clients on their rights, Revenue powers, and strategic approaches to interventions.
• Assess client tax controls and support the development of robust Tax Control Frameworks.
• Coach and develop junior team members, fostering a learning culture.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives and promote risk‑management practices.
• Manage multiple engagements within budget and time constraints while ensuring high client satisfaction.

Required profile

• 5+ years of tax experience, preferably in a Big 4, mid‑tier practice, or Revenue Commissioners.
• Experience with Revenue audits is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Qualified tax or accountancy professional (or qualified by experience) with strong academic record.
• Proven ability to lead multiple engagements and deliver results.
