Team Leader – Value Centre

About the role

Team Leader – VC Carlow. Applications are invited for the positions of Team Leader in Value Centre Carlow on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will support the Cash & Carry Management Team to ensure the centre operates professionally, compliantly and profitably.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support in the absence of the Cash & Carry Manager/Assistant Manager, including key holding duties.
• Communicate effectively with customers and staff, resolving queries efficiently.
• Supervise, mentor and train new and existing staff.
• Assist in growing customer sales and ensure accurate, speedy processing of orders.
• Maintain compliance with the Wholesale Standards Programme and oversee stock replenishment and control.
• Prepare the branch for quarter‑end activities and ensure cash & carry security.

Required profile

• Highly motivated self‑starter with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a customer‑facing role within licensed, grocery or catering trade.
• Ability to manage day‑to‑day floor operations, including staff, stock control, deliveries and merchandising.
• Flexible with start/finish times to meet operational demands.
• Understanding of HACCP; experience in the chill/frozen sector is an advantage.

Required skills

• Forklift operation experience.
• Basic knowledge of HACCP principles.
