Trade Qualified Fitter – Maintenance Technician

About the role
We are looking for a Trade Qualified Fitter to join our manufacturing team in North Dublin. The successful candidate will install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair production equipment and plant machinery, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal downtime in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and plant machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults quickly to minimise production interruptions.
- Carry out equipment installations, modifications, upgrades and commissioning.
- Maintain conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and maintenance documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost equipment reliability.
- Complete maintenance records, work orders and reports using the CMMS.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance and reduce disruption.
- Participate in shutdowns, planned maintenance schedules and on‑call or shift cover as required.
Required profile
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Fitter/Turner, Maintenance Fitter or equivalent recognised trade qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing, industrial or production environment.
- Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
- Experience with pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Good awareness of health and safety requirements in an industrial setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and handle pressure.
