Transport Coordinator (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are seeking a Transport Coordinator for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract based in Cork, Ireland. The role involves managing and coordinating transportation and logistics operations, including route planning, vehicle scheduling, driver communication and fleet maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Assign approved service providers based on carrier matrix, mode, service level and cost efficiency.
• Identify shipments at risk of missing secure dates and propose corrective actions.
• Track vehicles using GPS software and confirm scheduled and actual pick‑up times.
• Tender shipments to carriers and consolidate loads to achieve cost savings.
• Work with providers on shipment recoveries and communicate cost‑effective transportation options.
• Coordinate with the warehouse team on scheduling and prioritisation of shipments.
• Report, monitor and analyse carrier performance against service metrics.
• Meet and exceed on‑time pick‑up and delivery targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transportation or logistics with strong problem‑resolution abilities.
• Experience in transport planning, customs handling and white‑glove services.
• Confident communication skills and professional telephone manner.
• Strong organisational abilities and ability to work under pressure to meet targets.
• PC literate and customer‑service oriented.
