Transport Operations Coordinator

About the role

The Transport Operations Coordinator supports the day‑to‑day running of Hannon Logistics' transport network in Lusk, ensuring efficient planning, compliance and reliable service delivery across the fleet. Acting as the central hub between planners, drivers, customers and depots, the role helps keep operations smooth, safe and cost‑effective.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily planning and execution of transport schedules, monitoring vehicle movements and handling operational issues.
• Assist with route optimisation, resource utilisation and manage short‑notice changes, delays and re‑planning.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, ensuring compliance with working time and RSA regulations.
• Liaise with workshop and fleet teams on vehicle availability, recording defects and incidents.
• Communicate with customers regarding collections, deliveries and service issues, and coordinate with depots, warehouses and third‑party hauliers.
• Update Transport Management Systems (TMS) accurately, track KPIs such as on‑time delivery and utilisation, and maintain operational records.
• Support POD processing, invoicing and query resolution.
• Assist with road transport, health & safety compliance, audits, investigations and incident reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in a transport or logistics operations role.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Proactive, adaptable and calm under pressure.
• Team‑player with a customer‑focused mindset and attention to detail.
