Transportation Planner / Engineer – Ireland

About the role

AECOM is expanding its Transportation team across Ireland and is looking for experienced planners and engineers to join a portfolio of high‑impact infrastructure projects. Candidates will work with major public‑sector clients such as Transport Infrastructure Ireland, the National Transport Authority and Irish Rail, delivering solutions from concept through to operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver transport planning and engineering projects for rail, road and active‑travel schemes.
• Provide analytical, strategic and technical expertise at all project stages.
• Collaborate with clients to develop concept designs, detailed designs and construction support.
• Prepare area‑based transport assessments, mobility hub studies and greenway proposals.
• Ensure compliance with Irish technical standards and best practice.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering transport planning or engineering projects in Ireland.
• Deep familiarity with Irish transport technical standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to work across seniority levels, from junior engineers to directors.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and multidisciplinary teamwork.
