Buyer Planner

About the role

Production Equipment, a leading industrial distributor of over 90,000 products, is seeking a Buyer Planner to join its purchasing team. The role combines procurement, material planning and product lifecycle management to ensure continuous supply and optimal inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Manage product categories and maintain continuous supply while optimizing inventory.
• Review minimum stock levels against sales data and reduce excess inventory.
• Improve warehouse space utilization and meet agreed timelines.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships, participate in cost‑reduction initiatives and ensure vendor performance aligns with internal quality standards.
• Handle departmental administration, analyse purchasing discrepancies and support logistics coordination.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of planning or procurement experience.
• Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance or related field (preferred).
• Strong organisational, negotiation and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced distribution environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using SAP or another ERP system.
