Assistant Lecturer – Social Care Work

About the role

Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) is seeking an Assistant Lecturer in Social Care Work to join its academic team. The position is primarily based on the Midwest campuses, with occasional duties at other TUS locations. You will contribute to teaching, research, and community engagement within a QS 5‑Star university.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and evaluate undergraduate and postgraduate lectures and seminars in social care.
• Develop curriculum materials, assessment tools and learning resources.
• Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality‑assurance processes and research activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple campuses as required.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification (e.g., MSc or PhD) in Social Care or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at higher‑education level.
• Ability to work flexibly across several campuses.
• Commitment to inclusive, student‑centred education.
