Associate Dean Rural and Head of Rural Clinical Campuses

About the role

The University of New South Wales is seeking a senior academic leader to serve as Associate Dean Rural and Head of Rural Clinical Campuses. This role provides strategic and operational oversight for the Rural Clinical Campuses across regional NSW, supporting high‑quality medical education, research and clinical service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior academic and clinical leadership across all Rural Clinical Campuses.
• Advise the Faculty and University on rural health strategy and policy.
• Oversee campus operations, staff stewardship, and the integration of education, research and innovation.
• Ensure quality and optimisation of medical training programmes delivered in rural settings.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Local Health Districts, hospitals and community stakeholders.
• Travel regularly to rural campuses (Wagga Wagga, Port Macquarie, etc.) and occasionally to metropolitan sites.

Required profile

• Established academic leader at Associate Professor or Professor level (Level D‑E).
• Extensive experience in rural health education and clinical practice.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑site operations and foster collaborative relationships.
• Full work rights in Australia (no visa sponsorship).
