Civil Site Manager – Substation Project

About the role

NexVentur is looking for an experienced Civil Site Manager to lead the civil works package on a substation project in Maynooth, Co. Kildare. The role involves overseeing earthworks, drainage, ducting, concrete works and related infrastructure in a live utility environment for an 18‑month fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily site operations for the civil package, ensuring programme targets are met.
• Coordinate subcontractors, plant, materials and workforce, and maintain site logistics.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, engineers, client representatives and utility stakeholders.
• Ensure all works comply with drawings, specifications, quality standards and health‑safety regulations.
• Lead site meetings, toolbox talks and coordination meetings.
• Monitor progress against the programme and report to senior management.
• Oversee site documentation, including RAMS, permits, inspections and daily reports.
• Identify and resolve technical or operational issues to minimise delays.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Previous work on substations, utilities or heavy civil projects is highly desirable.
• Relevant construction or engineering qualification preferred.
• Safe Pass and SMSTS/SSSTS (or equivalent) certification.
• Full clean driving licence.

What we offer

• Salary €60,000 – €75,000 depending on experience.
